Kyle leads kWantera as its CEO, managing the strategic direction and growth of the
company in addition to its day-to-day operations, employees, and services. He joined
kWantera from GE, where he led the company's global sales force effectiveness,
data science and analytics, commercial operations, and training/development efforts
for a 2,000-person sales organization. While at GE, he held a number of senior sales,
business development and corporate development/M&A roles in Europe and North America,
delivering more than $3 billion in transactions across the globe.
Kyle holds an M.B.A. from Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management,
and a B.A. from Allegheny College, where he also serves on the Board of Visitors.
In his free time, he is a math geek, aspiring father-of-the-year, amateur skier,
and lover of all things Trivial Pursuit.
Chief Operating Officer
Jeff is the Chief Operating Officer of kWantera, responsible for driving
the business towards its strategic goals. He joined kWantera from
Smithfield Foods, where he led business development and strategy for
one of the company’s global business units. Jeff holds an M.B.A in
Finance and Management from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of
Management, and a B.S. in Commerce from the University of Virginia.
Jeff is a Pittsburgh sports fanatic, Scrabble champion and lover of

In his role as Chief Technology Officer of kWantera, Matt drives all
things technical within the company. Matt joined kWantera as a
Software Engineer, helping to create our cloud-based web portal platform
before moving to the position of SVP of Digital, where he led the web
and marketing team. Prior to kWantera, he worked at an interactive
media startup where he advanced his knowledge of technology, digital
marketing and customer acquisition. When not working on the next
technical challenge, Matt enjoys supporting the Pittsburgh sports
teams and attending local car shows.
Dr. Josh Plumley
Head Of Engineering
Josh is kWantera’s SVP of Engineering, ensuring that all systems work,
and that all the intricate moving pieces are moving in the right
direction. He joined kWantera as an Energy Data Scientist and was
quickly promoted to Director of Engineering, where he led the
Software Engineering team to develop the infrastructure that is
responsible for running the models that EDS develops.
Josh holds a Ph.D. in Theoretical Chemistry from Duquesne University
and completed postdoctoral fellowships at Hunter College in NYC and QuantumBio Inc. in State College, PA.
Donald C. Belt
Don is the Senior Managing Director of AGSM. Don has more than 30 years
of experience in the hardware/lumber building material, industrial MRO,
and consumer products industries. Through high level executive positions
with True Value, ServiStar, and General Electric, and owning several
businesses, Don has gained expertise in M&A work, entrepreneurial
start-ups, strategic planning, e-business, supply chain management,
operations, acquisition integration, marketing, sales management,
financial management and capital generation. Don earned an undergraduate
degree in economics from Washington & Jefferson College and an MBA from
the Ohio State University.
Erik joined the Mohr Davidow Ventures team in 1998 and has over a decade
of venture capital experience. He currently holds several board memberships
including SodaHead and Cenzic. Prior to MDV, Erik worked at Interval
Research Corp., a technology incubator funded by Paul Allen, and at
Los Alamos National Laboratory as a technical staff member. He also
consulted to several seed and early stage venture capital firms. Erik
serves on the advisory council of the Stanford Precourt Institute for
Energy Efficiency, as well as on the advisory boards of the Stanford
Technology Ventures Program (STVP) and Stanford’s BASES. He is a winner
of the 2006 World Technology Award for Finance, presented by the World
Technology Network. Erik earned a Ph.D. and Masters in Engineering from
Stanford University and a Bachelors in Engineering from Harvey Mudd College.
As the longest serving Chairman of the Federal Energy Regulatory
Commission (FERC/2009-2013), Jon Wellinghoff is known for his international
expertise and thought leadership in energy policy, electric markets,
and the interface of disruptive energy systems with traditional utility
structures. In 2016 he was appointed Chief Policy Officer at SolarCity
where he advises on federal and state policies as well as oversee the
regulatory and legislative affairs for the company. While at FERC he
worked to formulate new policies and rules to improve electric market
efficiency and integrate new disruptive energy resources into wholesale
energy markets. He has authored numerous articles on subjects including
reforming retail energy market structures and the legal right to engage
in distributed generation. He is a sought after lecturer and featured
speaker on innovative future energy policies and has lectured widely at
such diverse venues as Stanford, MIT, Google, and the Beijing Energy Club.
