There is a competition between mechanical engineers to make efficient use of renewable energy sources such as wind, solar and hydro and take out new techniques of energy conversions and the ways to store them.

In the early 20th century electric grid came into existence, people raised voice again fossil fuels and stepped towards renewable energy. Thomas Edison in his interview of 1910 showed great disapproval for using fossil fuel, burning them for generating energy, he didn’t like combustion. Edison said, “ The combustion process makes him sick and he finds him totally wasteful”.

He further says that we should make optimum use of the natural resources and get all possible power from them. This power of natural resources can be seen in the form of sunlight, tides, or flowing wind. He poses a question that do we use these sources of Nature, we are simply burning them.…
